  1. When you need some serious R&R, there is only one thing for it…lock the door, turn down the lights and indulge in a soak in the tub.  If the experts are to be believed the ideal length of time to spend in the bath is a mere 10 to 20 minutes! Even if this is the case, we see no reason why those few minutes can’t be as luxurious and indulgent as possible, so here are out tips…

bathFirstly, the actual bath itself. Make sure it’s clean and run the water so it is warm but not hot (otherwise you sweat, and I mean really sweat!). Apparently, those experts also found that the best temperature for bath water is about 100.6 degrees Fahrenheit but I’m certainly not going to muck about with a thermometer, so basically, if you don’t dare lower your butt cheeks into the water - it’s too hot! While the bath to running put some clean, fluffy towels on the radiator so they’re lovely a warm when you get out.

Lighting is everything! Soft, mood lighting not only sets the scene but it also takes the edge off when I catch a glimpse of my naked self in the mirror when getting in and out the bath – that is sight that not even me needs to see! Our top tip is fairy lights plugged into the nearest socket and laid on the floor to give you a relaxed atmosphere.

Now to add the luxury to ramp your mood from chilled that to uber chilled! Light a candle or two - our Bath Time Tealight Set is perfect or choose your favourite or most relaxing scent- I often opt for our Frozen Margarita cocktail candle as it’s my favourite and find the citrus and zesty tones refreshing. Grab a beverage- it could be a cup of tea, a glass wine, a bottle of beer or a full blown cocktail with paper umbrellas, sparkly trees and a plastic parrot, but either way, in order to fully relax it’s always good to have your favourite drink nearby and finally, add a bit of music. Some people like the blues or soul but personally I prefer a bit of Bruno Mars at bath time!

So we are nearly at maximum R&R stage but for the ultimate bath time it is time to add the indulgence starting with a bath pillow. Anyone who has one knows just how much they make a bath a ba-aaahhh-th - no more neck ache, sore shoulders and tender skull from leaning against the slope at the end of the bath!

Glitter bomb summer fruits bath melt

And now for the pièce de résistance! Ladies and gents, allow me to introduce you to Kiss Air Candles newest edition, our blissful Bath Melts!

Pop one of our little “cupcakes” of heaven into your tub for a few minutes before breaking up to pieces to release the most amazingly moisturising cocoa butter (your skin will love you!) and delicious scents!

There you have it – how to bath like a pro! Might seem a bit of work for a 10-20  minute soak but it’ll be worth it and anyway, who says the experts are right - surely the age old “I look like a prune!” is the only signal you need to know your bath time has come to a natural end??

I’d love to hear your top tips for making bath time uber relaxing, so leave me a comment below.

  2. Christmas may be gone but winter is very much still with us, and if the weathermen/weather ladies are to be believed, Britain is in for a big freeze! So, we thought it was appropriate to give you the lowdown on the best scents to burn to make those cold, dark evenings when your snuggled up on the sofa even cosier.

    cinnamon scented candle

    * Cinnamon! There is a reason this candle stays in our top ten bestsellers all year round – it's simply delicious. But even more so in the colder months as its warm spicy scent literally engulfs you into the festive season!

    * Autumn Sunshine! If a candle was a hug, it would be this one! A personal favourite of mine, the creamy sandalwood and musk tones make any room feel instantly cosier and it's just £5!

    * Lemon Drizzle! If ever there was a scent to make any house smell homely and cosy it has to be the smell of freshly baked lemon drizzle cake wafting around. For those who would rather leave Christmas in the past, this is a perfect winter warmer scent with it spicy tones set against refreshing citrus giving a lighter, less crimbo aroma.

    * Toffee Apple! Pure indulgence for these cold days and nights. Again, perfect for those who want a less festive scent but still want all the comfort.

    * Almond Macaroon! This candle will have your mouth watering with bakery tones of warm cookie and toasted almonds with a hint of vanilla bean - perfect for nights snuggled on the sofa.

So there you have it! Five candles that not only smell amazing but due to their blend of delicious, warming tones they really are perfect for a cosy evening in front of the TV.

I'd love to know what your favourite cosy candles are, so leave me a comment below.

  3. Christmas has left the building, the New Year is very much in full swing and with summer a very distance memory with no sight of return anytime soon, it’s not hard to see why those January blues can be seen so prominently eched on people’s faces. Luckily, Kiss Air have a few tips that we swear by!

    Back to work blues:

Work, work, work. Sometimes taking a break just isn’t worth it with the amount you have to catch up on when you return and it’s only when you get home you notice the tension in your body that the constant bombardment of emails, phone calls and paperwork have caused.

Lavender CandlePerfect solution: bath time! Let the warm water and bubbles soak into your skin and achy muscles and relax! You’ll feel all those stresses float away in the steam of water and for added oomph, light our lavender candle because when it comes to relaxation, Lavender is by far the most well-know and recognised scent and for good reason!

Not a bath person? No problem, perfect solution number 2: Grab a book, pour yourself a glass of your favourite tipple, put your feet up and use that imagination of yours to take you away to a distant place. Reminiscing to a happier, sunnier time can do anyone the world of good and burning our Frozen Margarita candle (which happens to be January’s Candle of the Month and has 25% off!) can only help to take you back to that favourite beach bar of yours.

    New Year’s Resolution Blues:

Unsurprisingly millions and millions of people on the planet will have just one New Year’s Resolution – to diet and exercise! Personally at Kiss Air we can’t think of anything worse (as you can probably tell from our range, we like our cocktails and our sweet treats!) However, some research has shown that smelling non-food odours can reduce your cravings with Jasmine high on the list! Of course, some people are more hard core than others and although it personally just makes me more hungry, just the smell of our Lemon Drizzle cake candle filling their house is enough to satisfy their sweet cravings.

So, if you ever needed an extra reason to treat yourself on the candle front, you’ve just found it!

  4. Laura and I love this time of year - the hazy sunshine, leaves are turning golden and wearing fluffy socks, curling up on the sofa drinking hot chocolate with the flicker of a flame to give that super cosy feeling.

    autumn sunshine

We wanted to create a candle that smells comforting and gives us a cosy feeling and would help us snuggle into the new season. So, Autumn Sunshine is a decedent, creamy indulgent scent with top notes of caramelised amber and honeyed sweet white musks. Softly spiced pink peppercorns and a gentle wisp of geranium stems lead into a base of warm patchouli and buttery Madagascan vanilla pods to complete this scent making it the perfect autumn candle.

We'd love to hear what you think of our new limited edition scent.

    Love, Louise

  5. Hold on to summer a little longer with this month's candle of the month Sparkling Pomegranate.

This candle has a lively scent of grapefruit, lemon and orange blended with fresh red fruit and a twist of crushed pomegranate seeds. Hints of green foliage are freshened with a blend of crisp aldehydes to reinforce the sparkling top note.

You can get Sparkling Pomegranate for just £6.75 (usually £9) throughout September and don't forget we offer FREE delivery on orders over £25!

Do you like the smell of Pomegranate?
